You Have Questions, and We have the Answers
If you already know you want a keratin treatment, you can go ahead and book online—no consultation required.
First-time clients automatically get an extra 15 minutes added to their appointment so we can do a full consultation when you arrive. We’ll go over:
If you feel like you need answers before booking, schedule a Virtual Consult. These are usually on Mondays, and if you don’t see a time that works, just email us—we’ll try to fit you in.
We’re a very small team of three stylists working full-time behind the chair, so we can’t return calls or text throughout the day.
This is why our website is so detailed—we’ve built it to answer everything.
All appointments must be booked online.
We have to collect your forms and your card securely, and the booking system does that for you. If you text to book, we’ll just send you the booking link.
Need guidance before booking?
Phone calls don’t work for hair assessment—we need visuals.
We love working with pregnant and nursing clients, but legally we cannot tell you whether you personally can or cannot do keratin. You must ask your doctor first.
When you sign your forms, you are confirming that you received clearance.

You can absolutely still get keratin.
Just know that frequent sweating, ocean water, or chlorine can make keratin fade a bit faster. That’s normal.
The upside?
Keratin becomes a protective barrier—so instead of your real hair breaking down, the keratin breaks down first.
This usually means your natural hair becomes:
You may just want keratin a little more often.
Keratin is incredible for processed hair, but your first couple of treatments may not last as long because we have to use gentler heat to protect your hair.
Keratin is heat-sealed, so:
But keratin is still the best thing you can do for your hair because bleach, heat, and relaxers remove natural protein—and keratin puts that protein back.
By your second or third treatment, your hair usually feels transformed.
Most of our happiest clients come:
A quick guide:
You’ll likely enjoy coming more often.
You’ll probably prefer 2x/year.
Keratin washes out naturally with no line of demarcation, so you can get one treatment and never get another—your hair simply goes back to normal.
You are.
Keratin is right for every single person because hair is made of keratin, and we produce less of it as we age.
We customize every treatment, so we can work around:
We’ve done over 15,000 customized treatments, and all three of us get keratin ourselves.
Your experience here will not be the same.
We are the only salon in the country specializing exclusively in fully customized, formaldehyde-free keratin treatments.
Because we adjust placement, product, technique, and heat, we eliminate the issues many clients had elsewhere:
We can tailor your treatment to do exactly what you want.

Yes, you can still get keratin.
We just don’t do keratin over extensions or while extensions are installed.
Ideal timing
Because our keratin gets rinsed out the same day, you don’t need to rewash before installing extensions.
Important:
If you plan to leave your keratin on for 72 hours, wash at least once before your extension appointment—you can’t leave keratin on longer than 3 days.
Totally fine.
We have fast Wi-Fi, and the salon is usually calm and quiet during the day. You’ll have privacy while processing, and taking work calls is no problem at all.
Many of our clients work remotely during their appointment.
Keratin will not ruin your curl pattern.

If you’re concerned about keeping your curls, just let us know during your consultation—we will customize your formula, heat, and placement to protect your pattern.

No — not at all. Flat, lifeless hair is something that happened with old keratin formulas (especially ones with formaldehyde). Our treatments are fully customized, so we control how much volume you keep. If you want full volume, we adjust the product placement, formula strength, and heat so your hair stays lifted, bouncy, and full of movement.
No. Our keratin is rinsed out the same day so your hair never gets that greasy, coated feeling. If you’re naturally oily at the scalp, that’s just your natural oil production — the treatment won’t make it worse.
Absolutely. Our treatments are curl-safe, non-toxic, and fully customizable. If you want full curl preservation, we tailor the formula, placement, and heat so your natural pattern stays intact — just without the frizz.
Most clients have a 24-hour downtime. Type 1 and Type 2 clients wanting maximum smoothing get a 72-hour downtime. Either way, the keratin is rinsed out the same day so you won’t leave sticky or coated — it feels like a fresh blowout.
Yes. Keratin fills weak areas of the hair and reinforces the structure. Clients with breakage from bleach, heat, postpartum changes, or dryness usually see less snapping, fewer split ends, and stronger, more flexible hair.
Use sulfate-free shampoo and gentle, hydrating products. Purple shampoo is fine for blondes (sparingly). Avoid harsh clarifiers, purifying washes, salt sprays, and heavy oils used daily.
Keratin does not change your color, but it can expose warmth underneath your color if you have gray coverage or toners. If you are sensitive to brass, plan to color after your keratin (even one wash later).
Yes. Keratin helps blend textures, soften harsh grow-out lines, and strengthen compromised hair. This is one of our specialties and is a very safe transition method.
Yes — most tender-headed clients find keratin life-changing because it reduces tangles, knots, and roughness. Detangling becomes quick and gentle.
Totally fine. Most new clients are beginners. We walk you through everything, explain the process, and customize your treatment from scratch.
Keratin doesn’t speed up growth, but it helps you retain length by reducing breakage and split ends. Most clients feel like their hair is “growing faster” because it's no longer snapping off.
Yes, as long as you can keep your hair dry during the 24–72 hour downtime. You can fly, travel, or go on vacation — just avoid sweat, swimming, rain, and steam.
Yes. Keratin seals the cuticle, which dramatically reduces frizz, puffiness, and swelling in humidity. Clients in humid climates see huge improvement.
Yes, many children get keratin. If their hair is very frizzy, very tangle-prone, or painful to brush, keratin can help a lot. We still recommend parents ask their pediatrician first because we cannot provide medical advice.
No. You can keep using your curly products depending on how your curls behave after treatment. Most people find they need fewer gels and creams because frizz is reduced.
No. Our formaldehyde-free keratin washes out naturally over 3–6 months with no permanent change and no line of demarcation. Your curls will return exactly how they were.
There is no such thing as “too damaged” for keratin. We simply adjust the heat, formula, and technique to make sure it's done safely. Keratin actually helps repair damaged hair by restoring lost protein.
Yes, you can blow dry your hair during the 24–72 hour downtime — just don’t wash it. If your hair accidentally gets wet, blow dry and gently flat iron the section to smooth it back out.
Try to avoid creasing your hair during the downtime. That means no ponytails, buns, clips, headbands, or tucking behind the ears for 24–72 hours depending on your treatment.
Yes. For clients who want smooth hair with full volume, we customize the treatment so you keep your natural fullness while eliminating frizz. You get soft, touchable hair without losing shape.
Yes, you can swim — just know that chlorine and saltwater will shorten the longevity of your keratin. Rinse your hair with fresh water before and after swimming when possible.
Sleep with your hair down and smooth. Try not to bend or crease it. If you accidentally sleep on it and it creases, just blow dry or lightly flat iron the crease in the morning.
Don’t panic — just immediately blow dry your hair and use a flat iron on low to medium heat to smooth the section. This resets the hair and prevents uneven texture.
Yes. Keratin smooths the cuticle which reduces friction in the hair. This means fewer knots, fewer tangles, and way easier detangling — especially for clients with Type 3 and Type 4 hair.
Traditional Brazilian Blowouts often contain formaldehyde and force the hair straight. Our keratin is formaldehyde-free, non-toxic, customizable, curl-safe, and designed to smooth — not force your hair into something unnatural.
At this time, we do not offer memberships or packages. Because keratin needs vary from person to person, we prefer clients book only when they need it so the treatment stays fresh, effective, and personalized.
While the salon does not have a designated parking lot, we’re located next to a quiet residential area with ample street parking. We recommend driving past the salon on 30th Street, circling the block, and parking in the residential area one block behind the salon. Parking is typically easy and convenient, and this approach tends to be the quickest.
