Zahira currently takes Type 1 and 2 hair. Curl patterns are the last thing a Smoothologist trains on here, not the first.

Smoothologist in Training

Under 500 treatments

Completing their first 500 treatments inside the SMOOTHED education system, supervised throughout. Their rate rises as their repetition and speed grow.

Best for Guests comfortable booking a developing specialist at an introductory rate.
Established experience

Established Smoothologist

500+ treatments

Consistent experience across consultations, application, customization, heat work and long-term maintenance. This is our benchmark tier.

Best for Guests looking for substantial hands-on experience with a well-established specialist.
Advanced experience

Senior Smoothologist

2,000+ treatments

Extensive repetition across complex hair histories, highly customized plans, and the widest range of textures and goals on the team.

Best for Children, complicated chemical history, and anyone wanting our most advanced team tier.

Experience can vary by texture. A Smoothologist may be well established in Type 1–2 hair while still building experience in Type 3–4, or the other way around. The method itself stays consistent across every tier.

After more than a decade devoted exclusively to smoothing hair and more than fifteen thousand completed treatments, Kaylie built the SMOOTHED system — a repeatable method designed to give consistent results while still being customized for the person in the chair.

The story behind the system

Years of working across nearly every texture, hair history and smoothing goal taught Kaylie that consistent results don’t come from repeating the same treatment on every guest. They come from following a proven system and knowing precisely where and how to customize it.

Every Smoothologist trains inside that system before working independently behind the chair. Kaylie’s goal was never to remain the only person capable of delivering this. It was to build the next generation of smoothing specialists.
