The SMOOTHED team Meet your Smoothologists

Kaylie is the founder of Smoothed and the Master Smoothologist behind the method, with over 15,000 treatments behind her, though she’d be the first to tell you the whole team helped build it.

Her whole thing is keratin that’s curl-safe, formaldehyde-free, and free of anyone telling you your hair is a problem to be fixed.

She’s trained every Smoothologist here, works with every hair type and every age including children, and she’s the one sitting in the Teaching Chair when a trainee is learning at her side.

Taylor is Smoothed’s little ball of energy and the first stylist Kaylie ever trained. She’s been here since the very beginning. Fun, outgoing, and a genuinely great way to start your day. We say she’s a golden retriever, which is funnier because she owns one.

Taylor’s versatile and can take you anywhere you want to go, but she leans toward a stronger, heavier-hitting treatment, so she’s who we’d suggest if you’re a straight natural or you want maximum curl reduction.

Jay is a Senior Smoothologist and will be leading much of the training as Smoothed builds out its team and coaching program. He helped Kaylie develop and fine-tune the method itself.

Jay specializes in complicated textures: clients who want to keep as much curl as possible, and hair that’s been over-processed or needs real repair. If your hair has a history, Jay’s your Smoothologist.

Behind the chair Jay is relaxed and quiet. He’d much rather stay off camera than be in front of it, and the work speaks for itself.

Jenny and Kaylie go way back. Jenny owned the salon Kaylie once worked in, and Kaylie taught her keratin about six years ago when they met. Jenny ran treatments at her own salon for years before joining the Smoothed team when the salon went viral, and the two of them are now developing Smoothed’s own keratin line together.

She’s in the Established tier, hundreds of textured-hair clients in, and working steadily toward Senior.

Jenny has a light hand behind the chair and tends toward a gentler treatment for clients wanting to keep their curl, but she’s versatile and works just as well with straight naturals after a maximum result. Her energy is calm and low-key: a relaxing, easy few hours rather than a chatty one.

Zahira is the newest Smoothologist on the team. She was a keratin client long before she was a keratin expert. She fell in love with the treatment, then with the work, and went to beauty school so she could do it herself.

She comes from years of bartending and waitressing, so she’s warm, personable, and genuinely thrilled to welcome you into her chair. She’s specializing in Type 1-2 hair while she works toward her first 500 treatments.
