Children’s Keratin

Kids have frizz too. And a lot less patience.

Most families come to us somewhere between frustrated and defeated — with the hair, with the morning routine, with what it takes just to get a brush through it.

Watch first · what children’s keratin actually does

What it does

Hair that stops fighting back

We do a lot of children’s keratin. There’s usually a little one in a chair somewhere in the salon at any given time — ten to twenty a week.

Keratin softens the hair strand, which makes detangling dramatically easier. For a tender-headed kid, that difference is enormous. It’s also a serious time saver on a school morning.

There’s a second thing that matters more than people expect. A child’s shower routine is nowhere near as thorough as an adult’s with textured hair, so their hair often isn’t holding much moisture and isn’t getting properly clean. Stretching the curl slightly lets them actually reach their scalp — so the scalp gets cleaner too.

Detangling gets easier

A softened strand means the brush moves through instead of catching. Fewer tears, on both sides.

A cleaner scalp

Slightly stretched curl means they can get their hands to their own scalp and actually wash it.

Mornings back

The routine goes from a negotiation to a few minutes. That’s the part parents notice first.

What changes for them

Their hair starts working for them

When a child’s hair stops being a daily fight, how they see it changes. They start embracing their texture instead of resenting it.

Over time that turns into something bigger: a healthier relationship with their own natural hair, and the confidence to actually learn how to work with it — rather than getting frustrated at minute one and pulling it into a bun.

Eventually they need us less. That’s the whole point.

When you’re ready

Book under the children’s option

Only our senior stylists take children’s appointments. They’re the ones trained to work with tender-headed kids, and our stylists still in training shouldn’t be learning on your child. Children’s keratin starts at $650, with no added fees on a first treatment.

  1. Choose a senior stylist.
  2. Add the children’s keratin add-on — it’s what holds enough time for a first appointment.

No kid should dread having their hair brushed.
