Before you apply
More than anything, we’re looking for someone who sees the purpose behind what we do — helping women feel more like themselves, day after day. Someone who wants a career, not just a job.
Keratin is a skill. We can teach anyone the technique, the timing, the treatment itself. That part’s trainable.
What we can’t teach is warmth. Charisma. Being genuinely kind to a client on a rough day. That’s not a class we run — it’s who you already are, or it isn’t.
So before we ask for a resume, before we ask about your years behind the chair, we want to meet you. Send us sixty seconds of video — just you, talking to the camera.
Send your sixty secondsWhat this job really is
Every client who sits in your chair is carrying something — a rough morning, a low week, a version of themselves they haven’t felt like in a while. The treatment matters, but what you’re really offering is an easier morning, one less thing to manage, a little more confidence walking out the door.
This isn’t a one-time transaction. Clients come back every few months, and if you’re doing this right you’re not repeating a service — you’re watching someone’s hair, and their relationship with themselves, actually change over time. You remember their kid’s name. You notice when they seem lighter than last time.
That’s the job we’re hiring for. Not someone who wants to do hair — someone who wants a career built around showing up for people, again and again, and getting genuinely excited every time they grow.
This is a relationship business first. Hair is just how we show up.
How we hire
The honest split of what matters when we’re deciding who joins the team.
Step one
No resume yet. We’ll ask for that once we’ve met you.
That opens your mail app with everything laid out — fill in the blanks and attach your video. If it doesn’t open, just email info@smoothedsalon.com with those four things.
One last thing
Social media is a huge part of what made SMOOTHED what it is. If you light up in front of a lens, we want to see it — and it’s worth looking at what we actually post before you send us your video.
We’re not looking for a performer. We’re looking for someone who’s still themselves with a camera in the room.
