We’re in North Park, and there aren’t many hotels close by. The Lafayette is the pretty one nearby; most of our traveling clients stay downtown or in Little Italy and come over from there.

Plenty of our clients fly in and out the same day. If that’s you, book an early morning flight out, a late night flight home, and put your appointment in the middle of the afternoon. It works.

• Getting here. Uber works. So does the bus — $2.50, drops you a couple of blocks away, straight from the airport.
• Plan for three to four hours in the salon, sometimes more, so leave room around your appointment.
• Your first wash can be right away, or up to seven days later — whatever your Smoothologist suggests for your hair. Ask before you leave and plan around that.
• Arrive detangled, and travel in a loose braid or twist rather than anything tight.
• Travel light and come alone if you can. Our current space is small, and we’re at capacity, so we may ask you to move seats partway through.

Keratin, by design, wants to make hair as straight as possible. That’s the treatment’s goal. It isn’t ours.

Your goal is our goal. Want maximum smoothing? Extra strength, high heat. Want to keep a version of your curl? We customize for that instead. What sets us apart is doing that on your first appointment and still on your twentieth.

The system we use activates with less heat than any other Kaylie has worked with in twelve years, and keratin is the only thing this salon does — twenty thousand treatments across the team, all the same method.

Type post wash into TikTok and you’ll find post wash results — a lot of them ours, from our own clients. That term came from us. Nobody was doing it before SMOOTHED.

We ask our clients to send a video once they’ve washed their hair themselves, styled it themselves, lived with it a while — and we post that instead of the walk-out reveal. It’s the footage that tells you what a treatment will actually do for your hair, rather than what it looks like after three hours of professional blow-drying.

If you see other salons doing it now, it’s because they worked out how much those results build trust with their own clients. We’re glad. Everyone should be showing you the wash.

Booking the right appointment matters more than people expect. It’s what puts you with someone qualified for your hair and reserves enough time to finish properly.

Everything is booked online, 24/7, through Vagaro. Our waitlist runs into the hundreds — texting back and forth with that many people is how details get missed, and the salon is genuinely at capacity, so nobody can be squeezed in.

It isn’t that we’re ignoring you. The booking page is the only version of this that works.

When an appointment cancels, Vagaro texts the people waiting for that exact day and time — not everyone on the list. So if several days would work, add yourself for every one of them.

Best approach: book the first date that works, then join the waitlist for anything earlier. You have something held and you’re still in line.

Your first appointment is one flat price, set only by which experience tier you book — not your curl pattern, your length, or how much product your hair takes.
