Kaylie began her career at a hair salon in San Diego that offered keratin services, and from day one, she was hooked. While many stylists provided treatments that compromised the hair over time, Kaylie saw something different: a keratin treatment that strengthened, repaired, and supported lasting hair health.
She watched her clients transform—frizz disappeared, breakage stopped, curls softened, and hair started to grow again. Women left their chairs feeling confident and free. That’s when she knew this was the only service she ever wanted to offer. A few years later, she opened SMOOTHED, creating the first salon of its kind focused entirely on non-toxic keratin treatments.

Hi, I’m Kaylie Babajan—a licensed cosmetologist with over 10 years of professional experience and a lifelong love of all things hair. For the past decade, I’ve focused exclusively on keratin treatments and have personally completed more than 12,000 of them. I don’t know anyone who has done more keratin treatments than I have—and that’s not just a claim, it’s backed by years of hands-on work.
I launched SMOOTHED because I witnessed the transformative power of keratin. While many stylists offered treatments that left hair compromised, I was watching clients leave my chair with healthier, shinier, more manageable hair than they ever thought possible. Keratin wasn’t just improving their hair—it was changing their confidence. From that point on, I knew this was the only service I ever wanted to offer.
At SMOOTHED, we don’t operate like a typical hair salon. We focus on one service—non-toxic, formaldehyde-free keratin treatments—and we’ve committed ourselves to doing it better than anyone else. Hair is more than a career—it’s something I truly enjoy. When I’m not performing keratin treatments, I’m often creating educational content about hair care. I share tips and tutorials with over 45,000 followers on TikTok, teaching everything from at-home extensions to techniques for smoother, healthier results. As a licensed cosmetologist, I believe that good education leads to great hair—and confident clients.
When I’m not talking about keratin, you’ll probably find me:

The Backstory
I’ve loved doing hair since I was five years old (just ask my childhood dolls), but becoming a licensed cosmetologist was made possible by a moment I’ll never forget. A regular customer at the bar where I worked saw potential in me and generously paid for my beauty school education. That one act changed everything—and gave me the foundation for the work I do today.
Recently, I was honored to be named one of the Top 10 entrepreneurs on a new television series (airing soon!) and was considered for Most Investable Business. But I believe the best is still ahead.
SMOOTHED continues to grow, and we’re already planning our next location. Because women everywhere deserve hair that works—with their texture, their time, and their confidence. And I’m here to make that happen.
